After hearing Triple J’s Hottest 100 on Australia Day, many Australians living in Houston realised how much they miss listening to independent Aussie bands that we get to hear so easily back home. Luckily for us, Down Under Sounds 2012 will be on again in Houston on March 13 to showcase up and coming Australian bands before they head off to Austin to play at the the famous music festival South by Southwest (SxSW).

The line-up this year is:
Busby Marou will also be performing in-store at Cactus Music at 4pm on the day of the show.
Finding Houston went last year when it was held at Dan Electro’s. It was a great afternoon of music and it felt like a good old Aussie Sunday session. This year it has moved to a larger venue in Downtown, Warehouse Live, entry is FREE and it is open to all ages. Food will be available on the night via aussie chef Jason Gould’s food truck H-town StrEATs.
Down Under Sounds 2012 will be held on Tuesday, March 13 at Warehouse Live, in the Studio, 813 St. Emanuel Street, Houston, TX 77003. Doors open at 6pm with the concert starting at 7pm through until midnight. No reservations necessary but if you’re on Facebook please rsvp via the Down Under Sounds event page.
