Lucio’s BYOB

After some friends raved about Lucio’s restaurant in Midtown, I wondered why I hadn’t been there before.

This BYOB is a great restaurant where they are definitely not trying to be trendy.  When you walk in, there are pale coloured tiles on the floor, a small seating area and cafe-style chairs and tables.

Lucio’s does have a decent wine list, but in my opinion, the BYOB gives this restaurant a more casual vibe.  It is has a strong reputation amongst foodies who bring their favorite bottle of wine to try alongside the meals.

My husband and I went on a date night mid week and most of the tables were filled with a mixture of couples and small groups.  The service here was personable and friendly.

For appetizer I ordered the Beef Carpaccio with truffle oil and parmesan. This was delicious and light.  My husband ordered the fried calamari and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

For the main I ordered the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna.  This was amazing, my wasabi mashed potato and asparagus complimented the tuna perfectly.  There was nothing left on the plate!

My husband ordered the Dry-aged Ribeye with chimichurri, he said that it was very tasty and cooked just perfectly at medium.

Surprisingly the dessert menu was not very exciting.  However I got the fudge brownie and it was delicious.

I would highly recommend Lucio’s, it was a great choice for date night!

Lucio’s BYOB is located at 905 Taft St 77019.
