ANZAC Day 2013

Last year we did a post on TANZOT’s annual ANZAC day service that is a great family event.  Read more about it here.


This year both AACC and TANZOT are each hosting a service to honor the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who gave their lives in the service for their countries at Gallipoli during World War 1 and for all those who have lost their lives in wars since.

ANZAC Day Dawn Service

What: Dawn Service

Date: Thursday April 25

Time: 6.20am for a prompt 6.30am start.  The rising of the sun will take place at 6.44am at which time everyone will silently observe “The Last Post”.

Where: The World War II Memorial located in the Esplanade on Heights Boulevard at 11th Street.  Parking is available in the surrounding streets.

Cost: Free

Host: Australian American Chamber of Commerce – Houston

RSVP: Please register attendance with the AACC by Tuesday April 23.

ANZAC Service

What: Annual event with a service, followed by sausage sizzle.  BYO drinks and a chair to sit on and guests are more than welcome to bring their own floral tribute.


Date: Sunday 28 April

Time: 10.30am for the start of the service at 11.00am

Location: Bear Creek War Memorial— 3535 War Memorial Drive Houston, Texas 77084

Cost: Free for all TANZOT and AACC members

    Hey girls, would love to go to the dawn service in the heights, do you know if you have to register attendance because there doesn’t seem to be anything on the AACC website?
