4th July events in Houston

The 4th of July holiday celebrates the independence of the United States of America.  In Houston there are a number of events and a lot of them are free!

Freedom Over Texas

  • Event:   Freedom Over Texas
  • Location: Allen Parkway
  • What: 100,000 people attend each year for the stalls, family sporting areas, activities and concerts including Sheryl Crow and Martina McBride followed fireworks
  • Time: 4pm – 10pm
  • Cost: Tickets are $8 and children under 5 are free.

Friendswood

  • Event:   4th July event
  • Location: Friendswood Drive, Stevenson Park, Centennial Park
  • What: entertainment, food, rides, live entertainment and fireworks
  • Time: 10am through until the fireworks at 9.20pm

Woodlands

  • Event:  Red Hot and Blue Festival
  • Location: Town Green Park and Waterway Square
  • What: fireworks, face-painting, live music, games
  • Time: 6pm-10pm

Star Spangled Salute

  • Event: Houston’s Symphony’s annual Star Spangled Salute
  • Location: Miller Outdoor Theatre
  • What: Patriotic music from the Houston Symphony joined by American Idol finalists Will Makar and LaKisha Jones and followed by a fireworks display.
  • Time: 8.30pm – 10.30pm

Pearland Celebration of Freedom

  • Event: Celebration of Freedom
  • Location: Pearland High School Football Stadium
  • What: Concert and fireworks
  • Time: 6pm with fireworks at 9pm
  • Cost: Free

Katy

  • Event: Katy Freedom Celebration
  • Location: Katy Mills Mall
  • What: Fireworks
  • Time: at dark (approximately 9.00pm)
  • Cost: Free

Cinco Ranch

  • Event: Big Backyard BBQ
  • Location: LaCenerra at Cinco Ranch
  • What: Live music, family fun, food and fireworks display
  • Time: 5.30pm – 9.45pm

Sugar Land
