ANZAC Day 2014 – Events in Houston

ANZAC day is a national day of remembrance commemorated on the 25th April.  It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

There are currently 3 events in Houston commemorating the day of remembrance:

AACC ANZAC Day Dawn Service

  • Date: Friday April 25
  • Time: 6.10am for a prompt 6.20am start
  • Location: The USS Houston Memorial, 1000 Bagby St, Downtown Houston, 77002 (in the grounds of Sam Houston Park
  • Cost: Free
  • The event will be on rain or shine
  • RSVP: Through the AACC

Houston Lonestars ANZAC Day Event

  • Date: Saturday April 26
  • Time: 5-8pm
  • Location: Karbach Brewery,  2032 Karback St Houston 77092
  • Cost:$5 – $20
  • Information: They will show the AFL Day Footy Match (Collingwood v Essendon) Karbach beer on top, food trucks and have a 2 up competition

TANZOT ANZAC Day Commemoration

  • Date: Sunday April 27
  • Time: 10.30am for an 11.00am start
  • Location: Bear Creek War Memorial, 3535 War Memorial Drive Houston, 77084
  • Cost: Free to all TANZOT and AACC members
  • Food: Includes a sausage sizzle, but please bring  your own (non alcoholic drinks)
  • RSVP: Please email Emma Peterson at by April 13
